Breast Surgery / Boob Job
Breast augmentation surgery is a common plastic surgical procedure availed of by individuals who want to improve the size and/or appearance of their breasts. Also widely known as breast enlargement, it is a procedure that uses saline or silicone breast implants, which are placed either under or over the chest muscle, to produce its desired effect.
This procedure may also be used for reconstructive purposes, as in the correction of congenital or inborn breast defects, or in chest repair following the removal of a cancerous breast among breast cancer patients.
One important thing that both patient and doctor must develop and agree upon before performing breast augmentation is a treatment plan that may include the kind of implant to be used and the amount of the same to be implanted, among others. Ideal body proportions must also be taken into consideration not only for reasons of achieving optimal aesthetic results, namely, natural-looking breasts. Instead, it is also for purposes of averting negative health consequences, such as persistent back pains that may occur when too much implants are used, thus resulting to breasts that are much larger than is ideal for the patient’s frame.
