Nose Surgery / Job
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure for improving the size and/or appearance of the nose or for correcting various nose defects. Commonly known as nose surgery or nose job, it is the treatment of choice among individuals who are unhappy about the size and/or shape of their nose, or are experiencing breathing problems brought about by physical nose irregularities.
Nose surgery can be performed to reduce or increase the size of the nose, or to change the angle between it and the upper lip for better facial proportions. It is also useful for reshaping the tip or bridge of the nose to achieve a more symmetrical appearance. It can also be used to remove prominent humps on the nose bridge.
Besides these aesthetic purposes, nose surgery can also provide the benefit of relieving some breathing difficulties, when the procedure is complemented by surgery on the nasal septum. In such a case, the procedure may be covered by medical insurance.
Depending on the specific problem, the surgeon may use various techniques to produce the desired result, which may include accessing the bones and cartilage supporting the nose through incisions made with either the open or endonasal approach.
